Medbio expands implant molding capabilities

Implant Cell

Medbio is pleased to announce the launch of an additional, dedicated implant molding cell, expanding on the company’s injection molding offerings. Continued growth in implantable component manufacturing for neurology and orthopedic OEMs has driven Medbio to expand its molding capacity in a class 7 clean room.

“We’re excited about our growth and the expanded capabilities in implantable components” says John Woodhouse, Dir. of Sales and Marketing for Medbio. We’ve increased our capacity to meet the growing needs of our customers, and we are better positioned to support the fast growing implant sector in the medical device industry.

Medbio has paired two 55-ton electric presses with Arburg’s micro molding modules to form the new implant molding cell. These two presses are contained in an ISO class 7 clean room. A number of top-performing operators are assigned to this cell and will receive specialized, ongoing training to ensure the highest-quality implants.
