History

Medbio has a history of building partnerships and we constantly challenge ourselves to go beyond our customers’ expectations.

2004
Founded in 2004 on the southwest side of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Medbio quickly developed a reputation for high quality products with superior customer service. During the start-up years our growth was driven by the dedication and industry experience of Sean Callaghan, Mark Longcore, and Joe Szyperski. They continue to be an integral part of Medbio’s success.

In September 2011, Medbio moved into a new facility on the southeast side of Grand Rapids, Michigan, which was later expanded to 65,000 sq ft in 2014.

Medbio purchased Concept Molds in Schoolcraft, Michigan, giving Medbio in-house tooling capability, expanding our offerings to the customer.

2019
Five years later, Medbio purchased AIM Plastics in Clinton Township, Michigan. AIM Plastics, an ISO 13485 certified medical device contract manufacturer, added rapid prototype-to-production to Medbio’s capabilities and increased our capacity to support our growing customer base.

Medbio acquired Polymer Conversions, Inc. (PCI), located in Orchard Park, New York. PCI is a full-service medical injection molding contract manufacturer that specializes in highly technical, tight tolerance thermoplastic tools, molded components, assemblies, and post molding applications for the medical device industry.

After acquiring AIM Plastics and Polymer Conversions, Inc both organizations were rebranded as Medbio. Combining the strengths of all our facilities under one name not only allows for consistency and uniformity for our customers but also gives them a seamless experience no matter which location they are partnering with.

Medbio joins the Protective Industries family. Combining forces with Caplugs Medical to offer customers a contract manufacturing partner like no other with expanded capabilities and ready to ship catalog options. Now boasting 17 global locations, Medbio and Caplugs Medical can find the solution you need.

Medbio has continued to serve a growing customer base and has significantly increased production revenue each year since its beginning.
