Job Details

Summary of Function:

The CostAccountant is responsible for posting, costing and analysis of all inventory transactions. This position will also support monthly and annual accounting routines as required, along with support of special projects.  All of the functions listed below will be for both Medbio LLC and Concept Molds LLC.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Posting and analyzing all inventory transactions
  • Monitoring cost variances
  • Calculating and implementing cost standards for materials, labor, and overhead
  • Preparing cost of goods sold and production reports
  • Reconciling all monthly inventories
  • Preparation of other balance sheet account reconciliations and related journal entries
  • Preparing all inventory-related journal entries at month end
  • Analyzing various product and operational costs
  • Maintaining fixed asset and CIP records as well as recording monthly depreciation
  • Performing other month-end close activities
  • Performing periodic standard cost updates as appropriate
  • Assisting in the budget process including budgeting cost of sales and other expense accounts as assigned
  • Completing the annual inventory standard recost
  • Assistance with the accounting for ‘sister’ tool company

 

Organizational Relationships:

  • The Cost Accountant reports to the Senior Accountant. This position has a working relationship with the management team and all functional areas of the company.

 

Experience and/or Educational Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years of experience in Cost Accounting
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels throughout the organization
  • Strong analytical and research abilities
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Have self-initiative
  • Excellent planning, organizational, coordination and time management skills
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Experience with enterprise resources planning (ERP) systems is vital

 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work and perform what would be considered standard practices for this type of position in the industry.
