Plastic Injection Molding Supply Chain Manager

Summary of Functions:

Responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring our overall supply chain strategy in order to maximize efficiency and
productivity of product fulfillment. Areas of responsibility include: customer sales orders/contract review, production scheduling,
vendor management, purchasing, receiving, inventory control, and shipping.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the entire flow of production-related materials in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Responsible for all supply-chain transactions, processes, procedures, and system maintenance in the ERP system
    (IQMS), ranging from sales orders and purchasing through shipping, including returns
  • Responsible to evaluate and report on KPIs for all areas of responsibility such as: elimination of stock-outs, on-time
    shipments to customers, inventory control, team performance, vendor performance, errors, etc.
  • Responsible for sales order (customer PO) management and contract review
  • Responsible for production scheduling (including samples) to assure efficient production, timeliness of customer
    deliveries, and reduction of internal disruptions
  • Responsible to maintain the Approved Vendor List (AVL) per SOPs, negotiate contracts, and create and maintain
    relationships and communication with vendors on the AVL
  • Responsible for all purchasing activities including negotiations, contracts, systems, procedures, pricing support, and
    management of the corresponding support staff
  • Responsible to maintain efficient, effective, and accurate supply chain inventories for raw materials, WIP, and finished
    goods including status and separation of materials (hold, reject, MRB, non-allocatable, customer-owned, and obsolete)
  • Responsible for timely, accurate, and properly packaged shipments of product (including samples), and all associated
  • Responsible for creating, training, and maintaining up-to-date procedures, practices, and SOPs for all areas of
  • Collaborate with other departments and facilities to create coordinated plans for processes, operational gaps, growth, and
    cost savings
  • Establish and optimize supply chain processes and apply lean principals where it makes sense throughout the
  • Develop and maintain safety guidelines and practices in all aspects of supply chain, including equipment use
  • Plan and implement risk-mitigation policies and practices
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively and professionally with all Medbio personnel (including other facilities),
    suppliers, and customers
  • Follow all specifications, department procedures, SOPs, quality systems, and ISO/GMPs
  • Facilitate and encourage assigned group’s conformance to Medbio culture, vision, and mission statements
  • Complete any task or special project that may be assigned

Organizational Relationships:

This position will directly report to the President of Medbio Grand Rapids. There will be frequent interaction with all departments as
well as regular interaction with vendors and occasional interaction with customers.

Experience and/or Educational Requirements:

  • Four-year degree in supply chain or similar degree
  • Five (5) + years’ experience in a supply chain management role, preferably with medical device and/or ISO13485/GMP
  • Certification through the Association for Supply Chain Management, such as CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional),
    CPIM (Certified Production Inventory Manager), or similar
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ERP experience; IQMS a plus
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work strategically, logically, analytically, and systematically
  • Strong and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Understanding of accounting and financial principles
